One Year On...

Shirt- Zara
Jeans- Topshop
Sweater- Topshop
Clutch- Whistles
Hat- H&M

My blog is 1 year old today. Happy Birthday Girl About Town! Creating this blog a whole year ago was one of the best decisions I ever made. I hear often that people are wanting to start blogging but don't know where to start or don't feel confident enough to do it. My advice to anyone thinking of starting up would be.. completely go for it! It's an amazing way to output your creative energy. One thing I would say is that its a commitment, a commitment I have struggled with since my recent change in career. Last year was the year I finally took the bull by the horns and followed my heart into a career I genuinely love. It started off with me assisting a video shoot with an amazing stylist then saw me be part of the X Factor styling team which was a life changing experience for sure!

Since finishing X Factor I have worked with another stylist on two great projects. So that said I want my 2015 promise to be to make more time to blog. It's my passion for sure.

Just a little mention for my amazing new boots, how beautiful are they?! A little sale purchase.

Thank You so much to my readers over the past 12 months for your lovely comments & support.

Belted Knit

Knit- Zara  Belt- Reiss  Boots- Zara  Skirt- Zara  Bag- Zara
Sunglasses- Ray Ban Wayfarer

I am all about the belted knit this season. It gives a perfect silhouette when wearing a midi skirt or slouchy trousers. This knit for me is perfect, the colour, the fit and the big roll neck. The belt adds a polished feel to this outfit along with my heeled boot beauties also from Zara. I say this everytime but I am pretty much head to toe Zara again! What can I say its always bang on trend but affordable at the same time.

I spent this weekend in Devon at my family home. The weather was beautiful and felt very festive down at the Dockyard in Plymouth. I love this time of the year when all the mulled ciders are on offer and mince pies are everywhere you turn! Perfect!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas celebrating with your family's and loved ones.

In The Navy

Sweater- REISS  Trousers- Zara- In Grey Here  Bag- Zara  Shoes- Similar Here
Ring- House of Harlow

Today's post is all centred around this amazing sweater I recently bought in Reiss. Their sweater range for A/W is unbelievable and quite frankly I could have bought every one but I refrained and just came away with this one. The colour, the neckline embellishment and the neoprene fabric caught my eye straight away and won me over! I've gone a little navy crazy today pairing it with my navy slouchy trousers. This sweater can be worn with so many items in my wardrobe and will quickly become a staple.

Have you bought any items this A/W which you adore? I would love to know.

Pleated

Skirt- Zara- Similar Here & Adore this  Roll Neck Sweater- COS  Shoes- Zara
Clutch- Vintage Saint Laurent  Stacker Rings- H&M  Watch- Michael Kors

Leather is a big trend for Autumn/Winter and a trend I utterly adore. This skirt ticks so many boxes for me. It leather for one, it sits high on the waist creating a womanly silhouette and the length I feel really flatters the cut and pleats of the skirt. Anyone who reads my blog will know I am a huge fan of Zara so I am always keeping an eye on new things coming into store. I styled this look today as kind of a chic, Autumn simple vibe. The shoes and clutch dress it up but you could always thrown on a cape and ankle boots to really dress this down. My clutch is vintage Saint Laurent and is absolutely beautiful. The cut out work in these pictures does the bag no justice its simply makes the bag! Its navy leather with white leather cut out pieces. You can imagine how lucky I felt when I rummaged around in the store in Portobello Market and came across this! Timeless piece and great find.

How would you style this skirt? I would love to hear your ideas.

Welcome to Autumn!

Trousers- Zara   Shirt- Nostalgia  Jacket- Topshop - Similar Here  Bag- Zara  Loafers- Zara
Glasses- ASOS - Similar Here  Watch- Michael Kors  Rings- H&M

Autumn is officially here! The weather has well and truly taken a turn and the gorgeous carpet of leaves that have fallen is a clear sign. Another clear sign is that I am in super shopper mode for all things knitted, warm and cosy. I recently purchased this bag from Zara which I have had my eye on for ages, The loafers which are super comfy as well as stylish were one of my lovely birthday gifts. I knew I wanted some loafers but struggled to find any that weren't too bulky so when I saw these they were the perfect pair.

What do you think to the Khaki trousers? I liked the colour straight away and thought they were a little different to black which I usually wear. These will quickly become a wardrobe staple.

Autumn High Street Haul

Autumn High Street Haul

Jeans- Topshop  Bag- Zara  Shoes- Mango  Jacket- Zara  Poncho- Oasis

Happy Friday everyone! I thought with Autumn well and truly here I would compile a selection of items from the high street which will see you through the season in style. The great thing about the selection of items I have chosen is they are all below £50! How amazing! Personally I think they are all staple pieces as well as being chic at the same time. So that said when I saw this bag in Zara I immediately thought it had a Celine vibe to it and with a £40 price tag its a winner!

The Croc print shoes for me are to die! I love everything about them, the point, the print, the colour! Huge winner in the autumn shoe stakes. The Poncho is another great buy. It can be worn over a shirt for a smart casual look or with a leather jacket under to add warmth and layers. There are loads on the high street at the moment, printed and embellished but you cant got wrong with black. Now I am known for being a little impractical when it comes to fashion so when I saw this jacket in Zara I though hmmm its not very warm...however its gorgeous light fabric hangs beautifully and can always be worn over a fine knit sweater so I've gone with it!

Let me know what you think of the above and if you yourself have found any staple trophy pieces on the High street that you love this season. I would love to know.

The Highs of London Fashion Week #LFW

Top to bottom- Pictures 1&2  Eudon Choi SS15  Picture 3- Topshop Unique Picture 4- Eudon Choi SS15

September, the most important month in any fashionista and blogger's diary. This is of course because from the 12th through to the 16th London hosts 58 catwalk showcases in 5 days! pretty impressive if I do say so! I thought with this years fashion week well and truly wrapped up I would summarise on the highs of fashion week.
Day 1:
So day 1 saw Eudon Choi showcase his Spring/Summer 2015 collection.  His slouchy tailoring with a feminine twist mixed with florals and flowing materials made it one big tick for me. Simply amazing.  Day one also saw designers such as Felder Felder, PPQ along with Amanda Wakeley and Paul Costello to name a few. Felder Felder particularly caught my eye with their explosion of leather and prints paired with womanly silhouette. Just the right amount of cool!
Day Two:
Day two saw Emilia Wickstead, Antipodium and Markus Lupfer take to the stage. Markus Lupfers collection was simply the coolest mix of beach chic I have ever seen. Together with makeshift beach huts and surfboards galore made for a very interesting collection! I love it!
As the week was coming to an end we saw Sophia Webster, Topshop Unique, David Koma, Ashish and Fashion East showcase their collections. Fashion East again for me was simply divine, I loved the chocker neck dresses, the whole 90's vibe and the models semi dredlocked hair! Super cool points to them.
I for one cant wait to see what February brings to the Fashion world! Let me know what your favourite shows of September were.
