Woman Up! With Sheppard Style

A few weeks ago I was given an amazing opportunity to shadow and work with Gemma Sheppard of Sheppard Style. She is one of the leading stylists on the circuit with a portfolio including celebrity clients. Needless to say I was honoured to share the day shooting Ashley Roberts brand new video Woman Up See the video here. Gemma had not only styled Ashley for this shoot but Kimberley Wyatt and the four dancers.

The day for me started off early at the studio in Wimbledon where I met with Gemma. I started unpacking the clothes that had been kindly gifted from Aldo, ASOS , JD Sports and Lipsy. I quickly learnt much prep goes into styling a shoot. Gemma was organised and calm which made me feel instantly at ease. Previous to the shoot Gemma gives a brief (seen above) of the kind of looks she is wanting to achieve on the day so everyone is on the same page so to speak.

Ashley had three looks which were placed on a rail in her her room.

Look 1: Neon one piece under a black Organza Jacket and Red strappy sandals from ALDO.

Look 2: Denim hotpants with lace shorts worn underneath, Moschino Belt, Cropped top, leather jacket and Balmain Boots (which were even more amazing in the flesh)

Look 3: Adidas printed shorts, Black Bralet from ASOS, White Jacket & Gianmarco Lorenzi shoes.

The dancers had two looks each

Look 1: Gold High Waisted hot pants from French Connection, Neon Bralet from ASOS with a tropical printed bomber jacket, strappy sandals from ALDO and tropical printed snapback from JD Sport.

Look 2: Black High Waisted hot pants from ASOS, Black Bralet from ASOS, Leather biker Jacket from Michelle Keegan's range for Lipsy and Nike high top trainers kindly gifted from JD Sports.

I assisted with arranging the looks in the order they were being shot and then packing them away once they had been used. From a stylists point of view, I learnt that organisation is the key to a shoot running smoothly.

I have never shadowed a stylist before so the whole day was a huge eye opener to exactly how much work goes into creating the finished product you all see. For me the day was so inspiring and definitely unforgettable. Massive thanks to Gemma for inviting me along and letting me share the day with her.

Thanks for reading

Lucy
